Aircraft detailing at Scottsdale Airport (SDL)
The Allen Groupe is staffed at Scottsdale Airport, one of the busiest single-runway business aviation fields in the country and the center of corporate aviation in the Valley. Interior and exterior detailing, brightwork, paint correction and protection, disinfection, quick turns and AOG response, since 1991.
Services at this field
What we do here
Interior detailing
Cabin, cockpit, galley and lavatory. Leather, wool, veneer and suede, each treated to its own tolerance.
02Exterior detailing
Dry wash and wet wash, belly and exhaust soil, gear and gear wells, performed with aviation qualified chemistry.
03Paint correction and protection
Correction and sealing on a finish system that gives you one chance to get it right.
04Brightwork polishing
Bare metal, exhaust stacks and trim brought back and kept there.
05De-ice boot service
Stripping, cleaning and sealing of elastomeric boots, which fail early when treated like paint.
06Disinfection and disinsection
Two different services, often confused. We perform both, to the applicable guidance.
07AOG and quick turn
Mobile team members who reach any field in the country when the schedule does not allow for waiting.
08Delivery and acceptance prep
Presentation for handover, when the aircraft is being inspected by someone looking for reasons.
09Scheduled care programs
Recurring care built around your flight schedule rather than around ours.

What the desert does to an aircraft
UV is the dominant force here and it never lets up. The Valley gets more clear-sky hours than almost anywhere in the country. Polyurethane topcoats chalk, elastomers harden, seals dry out and interior materials near the windows fade measurably faster than they do anywhere with real cloud cover. Protection is not cosmetic in Arizona. It is what determines whether the paint makes it to its expected repaint cycle.
Monsoon season changes the job. From roughly July through September, dust events push fine abrasive particulate across the Valley, and it is often followed within the hour by rain. That combination puts wet grit on every horizontal surface. Wiping it dry is how you put swirl into a finish that was fine an hour earlier.
The water is hard. Valley water is heavily mineralized, and in this heat it evaporates off an aircraft before anyone can get to it. Mineral spotting bakes on, and removing baked mineral is a far more aggressive job than preventing it. Method here is about controlling how water leaves the aircraft, not just how it goes on.
The season swings. Traffic surges from November through April and the field is quiet through the summer. That shapes when scheduled work should happen, and it is worth planning around rather than reacting to.
How we work at Scottsdale
Scottsdale has a single runway, a noise-sensitive surrounding community and a curfew program, which concentrates operations and makes overnight the right window for full work. Our team is based at the field, so scheduled work is planned around your flying and quick turns are genuinely quick.
Summer heat is an operational constraint, not just a comfort one. Chemistry behaves differently at 110 degrees, dwell times shorten, and water flashes off before it can be managed. Work here is scheduled early or late for reasons that have nothing to do with the crew being comfortable.
Aircraft we work at this field
Scottsdale carries a deep based fleet and heavy seasonal transient traffic. Gulfstream, Global, Falcon, Challenger, Citation, Praetor, Phenom, Pilatus and King Air are all routine.
Nearby fields we also cover
- Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), roughly 15 miles.
- Phoenix Deer Valley (DVT), roughly 12 miles.
- Falcon Field, Mesa (FFZ) and Chandler Municipal (CHD) in the East Valley.

Where else we are
Where we are not based, our AOG and mobile team members travel. Travel fees apply, and we will tell you what they are before we go.
Common questions
Scottsdale, AZ, answered
Do you provide aircraft detailing at Scottsdale Airport?
Yes, and we are staffed there. Interior and exterior detailing, brightwork, paint correction and protection, disinfection, quick turns and AOG response.
Why does an aircraft in Arizona need paint protection more than one somewhere else?
Because of the UV load. The Valley gets more clear-sky hours than almost anywhere in the country, and polyurethane topcoats chalk, elastomers harden and interior materials fade measurably faster as a result. Protection is what determines whether the finish reaches its expected repaint cycle.
What is the problem with monsoon dust?
Dust events push fine abrasive particulate across the Valley and rain often follows within the hour, which puts wet grit on every horizontal surface. Wiping that dry is how swirl gets into a finish that was fine an hour earlier.
Why does hard water matter so much here?
Valley water is heavily mineralized and in summer heat it evaporates off the aircraft before anyone can dry it. Baked-on mineral spotting is far more aggressive to remove than it is to prevent, so the method here is about controlling how water leaves the aircraft.
What other Phoenix area airports do you cover?
