What South Florida does to an aircraft

Salt is the whole story, and it does not wait for weather. An aircraft based in South Florida sits in a corrosive atmosphere every day it is outside. Salt settles, holds moisture against metal, and works into seams, fasteners and gear bays. On a coastal field, cleaning frequency is part of corrosion control rather than appearance, and the FAA has connected the two in published guidance for decades.

The sun is relentless and there is no off season. UV at this latitude chalks polyurethane, hardens elastomers, dries seals and fades cabin materials near the windows measurably faster than a northern field does. Protection here buys years, not shine.

Then the growth season and the storms. Afternoon convection through the summer puts water on the aircraft daily, pollen and organic fallout land on every horizontal surface, and hurricane season means an aircraft can go from clean to filthy in a single afternoon. Interval matters more here than almost anywhere we work.

At Miami specifically, add the ramp. Jet exhaust deposition on a hub of this size is materially heavier than on a general aviation field. It is the same belly and horizontal-surface soil as anywhere, in far greater quantity, and it responds to dwell time and correct chemistry rather than to pressure.

Disinsection, and why Miami is where it comes up

Miami is an international gateway, and aircraft operating on certain international routes are subject to disinsection requirements. Disinsection is insect and vector control governed by public health regulation. It is a different service from disinfection, which addresses pathogens on cabin surfaces, and the two are constantly confused, including by companies that sell them. We perform both and we do not use the words interchangeably.

How we work at Miami

MIA is a large, security-controlled commercial field. Badging, escort requirements and ramp access are stricter than at a dedicated business aviation airport, and movement around your aircraft is heavier and less predictable. Our team members carry the required identification and work to the facility's procedures. Full interior and exterior work is scheduled overnight.

South Florida is covered by one team across the whole corridor, from Naples and Miami to Stuart. That means the crew that works your aircraft at one field is the crew that works it at the next one, and the standard does not change because the airport did. Our office is at 1515 Perimeter Road in West Palm Beach.

Common questions

Miami, FL, answered

Do you provide aircraft detailing at Miami International Airport?

Yes, and we are staffed across South Florida. Interior and exterior detailing, brightwork, paint protection, disinfection, disinsection, quick turns and AOG response.

What is the difference between disinfection and disinsection?

Disinfection addresses pathogens on cabin surfaces. Disinsection is insect and vector control required on certain international routes and governed by public health regulation. They are different services and they are frequently confused.

How often should a Miami based aircraft be washed?

More often than one based inland. Salt reaches the aircraft every day it sits outside and holds moisture against metal in seams and fasteners, which makes cleaning frequency part of corrosion control rather than appearance.

What other South Florida airports do you cover?

Opa-locka, Fort Lauderdale Executive, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Stuart and Naples, all with the same team.
